Ft. Lauderdale – On September 10th, WSVN 7 and many other news agencies congregated to Florida Medical Center to cover the award ceremony for its COVID units. Awards were also given to the emergency medical services (EMS) and the fire departments of Broward County.
This recognition program was created by the partnership of FineAwards.com and Tenet Healthcare, which manages Florida Medical Center and many other hospitals in South Florida. Representatives of both companies attended the event and rewarded the recipients with their new award.
“We look to honor them every day in every way we can because they are truly risking their lives to care for our patients and communities,” says Florida Medical Center CEO Jefferey Welch.
In the summer months of 2020, South Florida was struck hard by a huge resurgence of COVID infections. But that didn’t derail the efforts of the COVID units working in South Florida’s hospitals. Due to this, the number of infections has dramatically dropped in August and September.
The EMS and fire departments were given glass plaque awards because of their dedication to saving lives every day. “They don’t do this job for the recognition; they do this because they want to help people,” says Lauderhill Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Jeff Levy.
This is just one of the many FineAwards.com recognition events soon to come. Five of Tenet Healthcare’s hospitals will be rewarded for their gallantry.
