The annual British Fashion Awards took place last evening, and women took all of the big awards, according to The Telegraph.

Alexander McQueen's chief designer, Sarah Burton, took home the biggest award of the night – Designer of the Year, as she created the wedding dress that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her wedding day along with her sister, Pippa Middleton's, gown, the media outlet reports.

"This feels like the icing on the cake on a really amazing year," said Burton as she accepted her award from Samantha Cameron.

According to The Guardian, the other prestigious awards went to Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney. Beckham was honored with Designer Brand of the Year, beating out stiff competition including Burberry and Tom Ford. It was her first from the British Fashion Council for her brand that was established three years ago. Fashion designer Marc Jacobs was the one to present her with the award.

McCartney earned the Red Carpet Award as her catwalk dresses continue to pop up on celebrities at various events.
