Prevent summer slack-off with awards

Prevent summer slack-off with awards

The warm weather is here and many employers know 'tis the season for workers to come in later or duck out a little early to enjoy more outdoor activities with their friends and family. Though it's likely businesses see employees taking more time off during the warmer months, enticing your staff to keep up with their workload through custom trophies and other prizes could ensure your company stays on point with production.

A great way to make sure it's business as usual all summer is to come up with a few methods that entice people to want to come in. For example, having pot luck lunches on Fridays could be a fun way to make it seem like employees are partying in the office. Plus, it could be a good way to help more people mingle, creating a friendly community-like setting.

Another option for keeping people on task is to offer monthly prizes and awards for individuals who have gone above and beyond to help the company thrive. Gifting the top salesman each month or the person who never came in late in a given month with a lunch out on the boss or even an employee recognition plaque or award is sure to encourage others to step it up.
