Custom Fishing Trophy at Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic

The 4th Annual Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic – a tournament that focuses on catching wahoo, tuna, dolphin and kingfish – took place this weekend. Despite the less than ideal weather, anglers were able to weigh in record-high numbers. The winner received a custom fishing trophy created by!

The top honor went to first-time winner Fishin Pole, which brought it a combined weight of 123 pounds. Following them was the boat My-Sea-Chin with 109.4 pounds total and Contagious, which won in last year’s event.

Additional recognition awards went out to the “Weekend Warrior Division” winners for top grouper and top snapper. Dominick Zannelli of Fishin Pole earned both for his 32-pound grouper and 10.3-pound snapper.

Team did more than just provide the custom fishing trophy. The team also competed!  They boated a 12-pound Mahi Mahi and also released a sailfish.

After the tournament concluded and all of the fish were weighed, anglers, sponsors and guests enjoyed a beachside dinner at the Chesapeake Beach Resort. The presentation of the custom crystal fishing awards was after dinner. Winners also received $10,400 in prize money. The fun event ended with the announcement that $7,000 was donated to the Mariners Hospital’s new Oncology Services.
