Earning any kind of awards is an impressive accomplishment, so it's natural for recipients to want to show off their custom trophies whenever possible. However, showcasing these awards in a public space means that individuals should be caring for their tokens to keep them in pristine condition.
Cleaning and maintaining crystal awards can be particularly difficult. The material can change based on the award's surroundings, so it is important to take a few steps to ensure the trophy is as shiny and clear as they day it was received. To start, be sure you are regularly dusting the piece, which can help prevent damage.
If there comes a time when you want to wash the trophy, use only cold water. Hot water or intense pressure can cause the crystal to expand or crack, while certain cleaning compounds can cloud the material. It's better to gently scrub with cool water and, if necessary, mild soap. Soak the trophy in a plastic bowl with the liquid for a few minutes before wiping it down with a soft cloth. Smaller makeup brushes or photo lens brushes are ideal for removing water or dust from crevices.
By taking the time to carefully clean your trophy, you can be sure your award will be in top condition for a long time.
