Golden Globe nominees are here

Award season is now inching closer, as this year’s Golden Globe nominations were recently released. People Magazine reports the nominees were announced on December 13 by Megan Fox, Ed Helms and Jessica Alba.

The Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical could go to “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” “Les Miserables,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” or “Silver Lining Playbook.” Best Motion Picture, Drama pegs “Argo” against “Django Unchained,” “Life of Pi,” “Lincoln” and “Zero Dark Thirty.”

In the individuals category, the top actors in a comedy or musical could go to Jack Black, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor or Bill Murray, women up for the award in the same category include Emily Blunt, Dame Judi Dench, Jennifer Lawrence, Maggie Smith and Meryl Streep.

For television, Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical could go to “The Big Bang Theory,” “Episodes,” “Girls,” “Modern Family” or “Smash.” Best TV Series, Drama include “Boardwalk Empire,” “Breaking Bad,” “Downton Abbey,” “Homeland” and “The Newsroom.”

Similar to the Critics Choice Awards, the film “Lincoln” has earned the most Golden Globe nods with seven, The Associated Press reports. The motion picture is up for a record 13 Critic Choice Awards.
