It may only be the second day of fall, but you might already have noticed a change in your office! In addition to new decorations or more pumpkin goodies, you might see a decline in workplace morale. As the days get shorter, employee enthusiasm can cool down with the temperature, reducing productivity. One great way to improve the mood and efficiency of your office is to engage in employee recognition! Seasonal recognition awards are a great way to maintain that sunny summer attitude as the weather changes.
While the leaves won’t change in sunny South Florida at FineAwards.com, we’re still eager to celebrate fall! In addition to pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider, FineAwards.com loves to celebrate with employee recognition! One way we recognize our employees at FineAwards.com is through our Recognizing Our Finest series. In each edition, we meet a different FineAwards.com employee. To start of our fall seasonal recognition, we’re meeting Andi, our Marketing and Sales Representative!
How long have you been at FineAwards?
It’s been three months already!
Describe your job in one sentence.
Creating opportunities for future sales, assisting the sales and customer service staff with incoming calls/orders and general data input.
Which celebrity deserves an award (and why)?
I would say Rainn Wilson. Besides being one of my favorite actors, he is an amazing philanthropist and person (at least that is how it seems).
What’s your favorite song to sing in the car?
Hmmmm.. anything Billy Joel but especially the song Moving Out.
For your personalized nameplate what elements did you choose and why?
I chose the phoenix bird and the sun. The sun always rises, the day always starts anew and that gives us the opportunity to grow and evolve every day. I identify with the phoenix bird because I truly believe I grow stronger and ‘rise from the ashes’ whenever I am having a hard time or something happens to me.
If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be?
I would love to choose my great aunt who passed away, I would give anything to see her once again.
What movie do you watch over and over?
What is your spirit animal?
What’s your favorite custom award we’ve created?
I love the award we created for Heinz. A solid crystal ketchup bottle that weighs probably 25 pounds and about 20 inches tall.
Orange Is the New Black.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
To rent/own an RV and visit every state in the U.S maybe even Canada.
Where is your favorite place?
Margaret Falls, Tennessee in the Snow.
What about you would surprise people?
I am extremely boyish. Not picky with any material items. Much more interested in experiences than things. I also don’t like getting ready or dressing up at all. I enjoy all things outdoors and recreational sports.
Describe the Fine Awards team in 5 words or less.
A huge family. We all have corky characteristics that make us unique to the team. Despite only being here a month I feel like my opinion is valued and we all get to make decisions for the company.
In your past jobs, have you been recognized and how?
I, unfortunately, have not, with the exception of a “great job” here and there.
Who is a fictional character you identify with and why?
I would say Jim Halpert from The Office. He knew his potential but never really pushed himself until he got older. Afraid of taking risks, he avoided leaving a place he felt comfortable. Much like how I was before going to interviews for internships.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
My name is Andi, not short for anything and yes it is a boy’s name, but I am a girl.
