The 5th annual Publix Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic will be taking place May 11 through 12 in the Miami Beach Marina, Florida, and offers fun, excitement and fabulous prizes for the top boats.
The event was started five years ago after the passing of Jim "Mad Dog" Mandich who was a star on the Miami Dolphins football team, playing for the club from 1970 through 1977. He won two Super Bowls with the team before retiring from football and starting a successful business and civic career in South Florida. Fishing had always been a huge part of his life, as was taking part in charitable actions around South Florida. For these reasons, it was fitting to name the Mad Dog Mandich Fishing Classic in his honor.
This year's event is sure to impress as it starts off Friday night with a cocktail party followed by final registration. Saturday is full of fishing and weigh-ins that spectators can watch to gauge the competition. After figuring out the top winners, guests and fisherman head to the awards ceremony where prizes are announced. Categories include, Top Dolphin, Top Kingfish, Top Tuna and Top Angler.
FineAwards.com has donated trophies for the event and winners will proudly be able to display these recognition awards on their boats or in their homes to remember the thrilling event.
