Baylor University quarterback Robert Griffin III was chosen this past Tuesday as the winning of the Manning Award, which he can add to the many awards that he has won, according to The Times-Picayune.
The Manning Award is given to the best quarterback in college football. Griffin, who may be the No. 1 draft pick, would be thrilled to be on the Indianapolis Colts, which holds this selection, and work alongside Peyton Manning.
"If I'm blessed to be the first pick, I wouldn't mind sitting behind Peyton," said Griffin, who is now training at the Athletes Performance Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona, told the news source. "You don't know what's going to happen with Peyton, but I know I could learn from him and would cherish the opportunity."
However, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is also expected to be the No. 1 pick, and Griffin is projected to be no worse than fourth. Luck was the runner-up to Griffin not only for the Manning Award but also for the Heisman Trophy.
