Taking care of people's eyes is an important job and one Oklahoma optometrist is a cut above the rest. Dr. Selina McGee of McGee, Pickard & Robinson Eye Associates in Midwest City, Oklahoma, has been honored as the 2012 Young Optometrist of the Year award by the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP).
"Dr. McGee is such an asset to our association, her patients and the people of Oklahoma," said Saundra Naifeh, executive director of OAOP. "Her hard work and determination to better her profession, while providing clinical excellence to her patients not only sets a great example for our young professionals, but to all of our eye doctors."
Dr. McGee is an optometrist who specializes in primary care optometry and contact lens care. She performs eye exams as well as evaluating eyes for the presence of glaucoma, cataracts, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and many other ocular pathology.
McGee's occupation is very important as more than 38 million Americans wear contact lenses and 22 million suffer from cataracts, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
