The serious awards season may now be over, but that doesn't mean celebrities are done being praised. In the spirit of honors, MTV recently announced its nominees for this year's MTV Movie Awards.
MTV reports "Django Unchained" leads the pack with seven nominations, including Movie of the Year, Best Male Performance (Jamie Foxx), Best On-Screen Duo (Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson), Best Fight, Best Kiss (Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington), Best WTF Moment and Best Villain (Samuel L. Jackson). Despite winning an Oscar, the film's other star, Christopher Waltz, did not earn any MTV Movie Award nods.
In the Movie of the Year category, Django will go up against the films "Silver Linings Playbook," "Ted," "The Avengers" and "The Dark Knight Rises." The coveted Best Kiss category pegs Foxx and Washington against Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman for "Moonrise Kingdom," Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper for "Silver Linings Playbook," Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg for "Ted" and Emma Watson and Logan Lerman for their kiss in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
Us Weekly reports fans can tune into MTV on April 14 to see if their favorite celebrities win. Funny lady Rebel Wilson will host the event.
