Team FineAwards.com made a splash at the annual Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament. The one-day event allows anglers to show off their skills for a good cause, and the representatives of FineAwards.com made their mark on the competition with an impressive showing. 

Barbara Rodrigues, sales director for FineAwards.com, took home three glass trophies in recognition of her excellent efforts. She won the Ladies Overall category, as well as First Place Largest Tuna and Overall Largest Tuna after reeling in a remarkable fish. 

Other categories that handed out recognition awards included the largest Kingfish, Dolphin and Wahoo, but Rodrigues stole the show with her angling skills and large catch. 

The 17th annual Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament, which took place May 18, benefited the Miami Dolphins Foundation and all of its charitable endeavors. In addition to the tournament, there was a silent auction, live entertainment and award ceremony, all at the Miami Beach Marina. Participants got to meet and mingle with the Dolphins' cheerleaders and some current players, coaches and alumni, making it a special event for everyone involved.

Some of the biggest names in music are gearing up for the fourth annual O Music Awards. The show will recognize artists who combine music, culture and technology, so you can be sure that the nominees feature a great combination of style and substance.

Hosted by MTV, VH1 and CMT, the awards show honors the best in digital music, with categories like Best Music App, Favorite Web-born Artist, Must Follow Artist on Twitter and the Digital Genius Award. Each of the 16 categories has some kind of technological spin, including some that involve social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, making it the perfect show for today's cutting-edge music. 

Leading the way is Frank Ocean and Beck, who each racked up two nominations. Other artists who are up for one of the recognition awards include Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, David Bowie and the duo of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. 

Voting started May 16 and will run until the show airs June 19. There will be 24 hours of live music leading up to the awards show, so you can fire up a live stream to watch as more than 50 up-and-coming bands get ready for the party.

The NHL playoffs are currently in full swing, but that didn't stop the league from announcing the finalists for the Frank J. Selke Trophy. Given to the best defensive forward, the Selke Award often honors those players who bring skill and all-around intensity to the game. This year's final three are: Jonathan Toews, of the Chicago Blackhawks; Patrice Bergeron, of the Boston Bruins; and Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings.

These three superstars are hardly strangers to the spotlight. Bergeron won the Selke trophy last year, while Datsyuk has taken home the hardware three times in his illustrious career. Not to be outdone, Toews captained his team to the league's best record during the shortened season in 2013.

All three of the athletes have earned their fair share of recognition awards in the past. Each have also won a Stanley Cup within the past few years and are still in contention for this year's top prize, which should make the postseason all the more exciting.

Fans can tune in to see who wins when the NHL Awards return to Las Vegas this summer.

In case anyone was wondering, rapper Drake has certainly secured his spot in the hip hop genre. Not only does the young Canadian MC continue to drop hit after hit, it appears his fans are loving every minute of it. Case in point: Drake is up for an impressive 12 BET Awards, making him the leader of the pack with fellow MC's Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz trailing behind with eight nods a piece. 

According to the Los Angeles Times, Drake is up for recognition awards in multiple categories including Video of the Year (for five separate songs), Best Male Hip Hop Artist and the Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award. Other artists up for awards include Rihanna for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year. In the Best Female category, Ri is up against fellow artists like Beyonce, Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys and Elle Varner. 

Fans of Drake or any other acts will have to tune into BET when the show airs live June 30. Perez Hilton reports funnyman Chris Tucker will be hosting the event, while Chris Brown and R. Kelly are scheduled to perform.

This year's Scholastic Art and Writing Awards were recently announced and teens across the nation are being praised for their creative works of art and literary pieces. NBC affiliate KARE 11 reports Minnesota native Harrison Heinks was honored with one of these recognition awards for his unique sculpture. 

Heinks took home the gold medal for his creation, a pair of shoes, which he admitted took just 20 minutes to make. Creating pieces out of clay and other materials comes easier for the teen because his mother, Kari, is a local art teacher. She told the news source art has helped Heinks deal with stress and anxiety he faces due to his autism diagnosis. 

According to the Autism Society of Minnesota, Heinks beat out more than 230,000 entries for the gold award, the highest honor students in any of the categories can earn. The Heinks family is now raising money to help sponsor the cost of the trip to New York City so Harrison can pick up his award during the awards ceremony May 31. 

Many past winners of these prestigious awards have gone on to have successful careers within their industries. Previous winners include Truman Capote, Andy Warhol and more recently, Lena Dunham.

This year's Country Music Television Awards is set to be one for the record books. Not only has 2012-13 been a great year for music in this genre, but the awards show is pulling out all the stops to ensure fans of country music see their favorite artists up on stage during the live show. MTV News reports this year, fans will have the chance to see major acts like Taylor Swift and Hunter Hayes hit the stage. 

It's also being reported that other hit groups and artists like Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and Pistol Annies will also dazzle the audience during the June 5 show.

According to The Associated Press, country stars Miranda Lambert (one-third of the Pistol Annies), Bryan and Eric Church lead the nominations for this year's big event. 

Fans of country music can see what the CMT Music Awards have to offer when these and many other stars hit the stage at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., in early June. The awards show will be hosted by Jason Aldean and funny girl, actress Kristen Bell. This will be one of the first appearances by Bell who welcomed her first child, daughter Lincoln with fiancé Dax Shepard March 28.

LeBron James might have taken home this year's regular season NBA MVP award, but George Karl, head coach of the Denver Nuggets, was praised with his own accolade. CBS Sports reports Karl was selected at the 2012-13 NBA Coach of the Year thanks to his commitment and ability to help his team win when it counts. 

"In earning his first NBA Coach of the Year, Karl totaled 404 points, including 62 first-place votes, from a panel of 121 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada," NBA officials said. "Coaches were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third-place vote."

According to CBS, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra came in second earning 190 points, Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks took third with 127 votes, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovish came in fourth with 120 points and Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel rounded out the top five earning 60 points. 

Sports Illustrated repots the win for Karl is justified – he led the Nuggets to a career high regular season record of 1,131-765. Karl has been coaching for 25 seasons, this is the first time he's won one of these recognition awards.

Country music's biggest stars will soon be gearing up for one of the most fun nights of the year, the Country Music Television Awards. According to The Associated Press, this year's nominations were recently announced, so fans of this genre can learn if their favorite artists made the cut and if they'll take home any recognition awards June 5.

Female Video of the Year could go to either Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Jana Kramer, Kacey Musgraves Miranda Lambert or Taylor Swift, while Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Hunter Hayes, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan will duke it out for the Male Video of the Year trophy, CMT's official website reports. 

Group Video of the Year pegs Lady Antebellum against Little Big Town, Pistol Annies, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Zac Brown Band. The coveted Video of the Year category has Brad Paisley facing off against Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw.

Those looking to see who wins big in these and other categories can tune in live June 5 on CMT when Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell host the fete.

Most kids have to write essays on a regular basis, but for 13-year-old Maya Little-Sana, her work earned her more than just a good grade. ABC affiliate 10 News reports the San Diego native was recently selected as the winner of one of the most influential recognition awards a young writer can receive. Little-Sana will soon be heading to New York City to pick up the National Scholastic Art and Writing Award.

According to U-T San Diego, Little-Sana's piece, "Abyss" describes the newly-minted teenager's struggles to deal with an array of problems including depression, anorexia and bullying and more importantly, ways in which she works to overcome her issues. The essay started as a middle school writing project and was originally going to be a poem, until Little-Sana decided to lay all of her feelings on the table.

"My teacher gave an assignment to write a poem about where you came from," Little-Sana told the publication. "I just wrote it. I went into a dark place having to recall all the pain."

Now her work is being honored by some of the most elite talent within the literary world. Little-Sana is joining a celebrated list of past recipients including Truman Capote, John Updike, Stephen King, Robert Redford and more recently, "Girls" creator Lena Dunham.

LeBron James is no stranger to criticism or praise and he recently earned the latter, taking home the NBA's Most Valuable Player Award – the fourth of his career. According to The Associated Press, the Miami Heat superstar won the vote almost unanimously, receiving 120 out of the 121 first-place votes among the panel of broadcasters and sports writers who make the decision.

Not only does earning the title four times prove his worth within the sport, but gaining so many of these recognition awards also puts him in a category of other basketball legends. James now joins the rank of four other players – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain – who have all received four or more NBA MVP awards.

ESPN reports James is the youngster player to earn four MVP titles. Despite being excited about the honor, James admitted he was hoping to earn a different award this season. 

"I tried harder to win defensive player of the year than I did MVP," James told the news outlet. "That's my goal. Coach (Erik Spoelstra) had me guarding every position. We'll try again next year."
