Times have certainly changed within the working world, as more employees have admitted they need to feel appreciated in their job in order to feel happy and fulfilled. Entrepreneur reports there are certain ways businesses can update their style now in an attempt to promote employee well-being.
A great way to boost the good vibes in the office is for managers to let the people have a voice. Whether this is achieved by allowing workers to vote on small items of business like what color to paint the walls, or something more serious such as casting a ballot for who deserves crystal awards each month, giving employees a say shows the company cares.
Other ideas to consider include the higher-ups being more accessible to all employees and providing workers with a company growth plan. The latter may help ease employees' minds in regards to how secure their job is, the news outlet reports.
Offering praise and recognition when it's due is another must. A recent survey conducted by Walt Disney World Resort found establishing an employee recognition program resulted in a 15 percent increase in employee satisfaction.
